My favourite training area is N.E Derbyshire, as I've explained in the header on the introduction page for the Clay Cross website hence why Chris Sidwells (cycling weekly ride last year) famously called me a North East Derbyshire Poet!
What are your future ambitions in cycling? My ambition is to make Clay Cross RT one of the best teams in the UK, and with our current number one ranking in the East Midlands this year, we are definitely heading in the right direction.
What is your favourite film? Anything by Shane Meadows and Summer which was filmed around Bolsover and Chesterfield which on our training territory.

There have been many high points during my cycling career so far, the best probably being; finishing 3rd in the Junior Tour of the Peaks, winning the King of the Mountains competition in the Crawley Junior two-day stage race the same year and being Rayner Funded for two consecutive summers.

My iPod has over ten days worth of music on it and I listen to albums from the likes of Frank Sinatra to Status Quo to Bob Dylan to You Me At Six to Ed Sheeran.
Where is your favourite training area and what terrain do you like? I have been lucky enough to ride in some pretty cool places during my cycling career however I am always glad to return home and ride on my local roads in East Yorkshire. I am very fortunate to live in an area where there is so much variety; I have a mixture of flat, rolling and hilly routes on my doorstep.
What are your future ambitions in cycling? To continue improving and to reach my full potential. I would like to be able to use cycling as a means of making a living.

Who is your hero in cycling or in general sports? I don't really have one specific hero, I look up to many of the current pros including Fabian Cancellara, Tom Boonen and Alberto Contador. Of the now retired riders Eddy Merckx and Sean Kelly are riders that I really respect as they were and still are 'Giants of the road'.

What is your best achievement in cycling? It would be quite difficult to name just one. I'll keep it as short as possible; 1st Otley Chevin Cycles Classic Race 2012, Riding a 19:09 for 10m TT in 2012/2011, Riding a 48:54 25m TT in 2011, 3rd BUSA 10 in 2009, 3rd BUSA 25 in 2008.
What kind of rider are you? I'm an out and out power man. A diesel engine on the flat and can hold my own on the slight inclines. I'm developing a talent for sprinting (won 2 bunch gallops already this year). I can't deal with with hills or constant pace changes.
What is your race weight? The lowest I have been down to is 83Kgs, I'm currently hovering around 85Kg.
What are your favourite and worst foods? I love all foods except raw onion. I like hot and spicy, but am not keen on fish. My achilles heel is a huge fry up with all the trimmings including black pudding.

What is your best achievement in cycling? Sticking to Sven Nys, the Belgian Cross Champs wheel for all of 15 seconds as he came past to lap me!!! It got me a bit of TV coverage in the process.
What kind of rider are you? I like to suffer, so hot draggy races. I like to be in a break and get my head down and work hard. I am a cross rider at heart though.

What is your best achievement in cycling? I have always worked full time, but have managed to maintain my general consistancy in gaining a top 10 placing in most of the events I have ridden and still being competitive as a Vet; add to this 36 road race, 25 cyclo-x, 12 hill climb and 10TT wins over the years to date, with double that in podiums to match. I always look back on my 3 Division Road Race Champ wins with pride.
What kind of rider are you? A good climber with a fair sprint; if it finishes uphill then I am generally hard to beat, so I favour tough circuits that become selective by attrition, ready for me to pounce in the last Km.

Who is your hero in cycling or in general sports? Malcolm Elliot, for being a Yorkshire man who made it and then came back to the domestic scene to dominate as a vet.

What is your best achievement in cycling? When I had my first stint at cycling I rode as a semi-pro in france for a season trying to make it. More recently, winning a race at Brands Hatch in my first season back cycling and then finishing in the top twenty of all 3 road stages of the SERRL stage race in 2011.

What is your best achievement in cycling? In time trials, I have hit PB's of 1:52:25 for 50 miles and 53:35 for a 25 mile. Also taking part in the Duo Normandie last year and finishing 13th in the veterans class.

What are your favorite and worst foods? Roast Lamb with mint sauce but definitely not Horseradish sauce.
What music do you listen to whilst training? Best of Punk Brittania.
Where is your favorite training area and what terrain do you like? Quiet roads of Derbyshire.
What are your future ambitions in cycling? To maintain my current levels of fitness and goe as fast as I can as my age increases.
What is your favorite film? Austin Powers, White Chicks, any comedies really.

What is your best achievement in cycling? Representing GB 2 years in a row at the World Junior Cyclo-X Champs and finishing 2nd in the National Junior Cyclo-X Champs.
